GENERAL MEDICINE

This study program prepares students for their future career as physicians. It is implemented within a credit-based system of education, which is fully compatible with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), allowing students the opportunity to complete part of their studies at European partner universities. The curriculum is structured as follows:

Semesters 1 - 4: 

The focus is on theoretical subjects such as Normal Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, Medical Biophysics, Medical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Physiology, and more.

Semesters 5 - 7

Preclinical subjects are introduced, covering areas like Pathology, Microbiology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and more.

Subsequent Semesters

Clinical subjects are introduced, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Dermatology and Venereology, Neurology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Clinical Oncology, Psychiatry, and more. These are complemented by subjects related to public health, such as Social Medicine, Epidemiology, Forensic Medicine, and Medical Law.

Throughout the program, attention is also given to other subjects like Medical Genetics, Medical Immunology, Medical Ethics, the study of foreign languages, and Latin. Practical training in major clinical fields, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, and Gynecology and Obstetrics, is an integral part of the curriculum. The program culminates with a state rigorous examination in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Epidemiology, Social Medicine, and Medical Law.

DENTISTRY

The study is divided into 10 semesters and comprises three main groups of subjects and topics:

1. Fundamental Subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology): 

These subjects provide a solid foundation in the basic sciences.

2. Medical-Biological Subjects: 

These subjects delve into the medical and biological aspects and include topics such as anatomy, histology (including cytology), embryology, physiology, biochemistry, pathological anatomy, pathological physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, hygiene, preventive medicine, epidemiology, radiology, physiotherapy, general surgery, internal medicine (including pediatrics), otorhinolaryngology, dermatovenereology, neurology, psychiatry, and psychology. This section also covers first aid.

3. Subjects and Topics Related to Dentistry:

 These are directly related to the field of dentistry and encompass subjects such as preventive dentistry, conservative dentistry, prosthetics, prosthetic technology, anesthesia and sedation in dentistry, oral surgery, oral pathology, preclinical dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, periodontology, oral mucosal diseases, dental radiology, gnathology, professional organization, ethics, legislation, and the social aspects of dentistry.

Additionally, the curriculum includes four continuous internships at the office of a general dentist. The Dental Medicine program concludes with a state rigorous examination, consisting of three segments:

1. Oral Surgery

2. Conservative Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, and Periodontology (including oral mucosal diseases)

3. Prosthetics and Orthodontics
